Contact EPB
Call EPB at 423-648-1372 and a customer service representative will gather requested informatio
Within one business day, a dedicated EPB builder services representative will contact you to review your project.
Provide EPB with your site plan.
Please provide your assigned EPB representative with a site plan that includes:
- Required easements
- All meter center locations
- Facilities for service and proposed line relocations
EPB will determine the appropriate electrical equipment necessary to supply service up to the primary transformers. EPB’s standard service is underground facilities including pad-mounted transformers.
Fill out and return Available Fault Current Sheet.
Download and fill out the Available Fault Current Sheet which includes service voltage, connected kW, facility square footage and type of business.
Return to your EPB representative via email in a “PDF” format.
Based on information the information contained in the Available Fault Current Sheet, your EPB representative will be able to:
- Determine facilities required to supply service.
- Return the Available Fault Current Sheet to the customer with the calculated available fault current.
- Determine the amount of credit that will be given to offset the cost of EPBs construction. Any costs that exceed the credit will be applied to the customer in the form of a Sales Order or Contract that must be signed before construction can begin.
- Determine the deposit required to secure the account.
- Determine the kW amount of a power contract to be executed between the customer and EPB, if needed.
Notify EPB when site is at final grade.
Please contact your EPB representative once site is at final grade, prior to road paving.
EPB will install primary facilities such as transformers, transformer structures cabling, and secondary handholes.
EPB is responsible for excavating the trench, installing electrical facilities, backfilling the trench with original dirt and minimal compaction
The developer is responsible for other backfill options and/or disposal of spoils as well as the installation of the service laterals from the meter equipment to the EPB’s transformer structure
If convenient and to reduce potential costs owed to EPB, you may excavate the primary cable trench yourself. Please click here for trenching guidelines.
Schedule inspection.
Contact inspection authorities to approve meter center installation.
When your meter center installation has passed inspection, contact EPB at 423-648-1372 for account activation. EPB will then connect the service to the transformer.
Note: It is often the case that EPB is not the facility owner or not the only company utilizing the facility. One example is pole ownership could be EPB or another company and communication lines on the poles are not all EPB’s. In these cases, it is the customer’s responsibility to ensure all parties are involved when any relocation/removal of these facilities.
Redeem any EV credits or incentives.
If electric vehicle charging facilities have been installed, builder will provide requested information to EPB to take advantage of available credits and incentives.
EPB will provide an additional $500 of growth credit per branch circuit dedicated to electric vehicles.
Additionally, incentives of $500 or $2,000 per port are available for Level 2 or DC Fast Charging ports available to the public. Click here for more information.
