Call EPB at 423-648-1372 and a customer service representative will gather requested information.
Within one business day, a dedicated EPB builder services representative will contact you to review your project.
Provide EPB with your site plan.
Please provide your assigned EPB representative with a site plan that includes:
EPB will determine the appropriate equipment necessary to supply service to your new construction location. A sales order will follow. EPB’s standard service is underground facilities including pad-mounted transformers.
Note: EPB will provide $3,000 of credit for each unit (New Growth Construction Credit) towards the cost of EPB’s construction to serve the MDU. Any costs that exceed the credit will be applied to the customer in the form of a sales order or contract that must be signed before construction can begin.
Notify EPB when site is at final grade.
Contact your EPB representative once site is at final grade, prior to road paving. Ensure there is a clear path between EPB’s facilities and your service point.
EPB will install primary facilities such as transformers, transformer structures, cabling and secondary handholes.
EPB is responsible for excavating the trench, installing electrical facilities, backfilling the trench with original dirt and minimal compaction.
The developer is responsible for other backfill options and/or disposal of spoils.
If convenient and to reduce potential costs owed to EPB, you may excavate the primary cable trench yourself. Please click here for trenching guidelines.
Schedule Inspection.
Contact inspection authorities to approve meter center installation and inform EPB when complete.
Meter locations must be external to the building unless with written authorization from EPB.
Developer is responsible for:
EPB will perform individual meter installs.
Install Meter Locations (Apartments and Condominiums).
Meter locations must be external to the building unless with written authorization from EPB.
Developer is responsible for:
Installation of gang meter centers are prohibited from being installed on the wall of a townhome.
EPB will install the service lateral in the customer’s conduit.
Install Meter Locations (Townhomes).
If electric vehicle charging facilities have been installed, builder will provide requested information to EPB to take advantage of available credits and incentives.
EPB will install service cable to the meter sockets.
Redeem EV credits and/or incentives.
EPB will provide an additional $500 of growth credit per branch circuit dedicated to electric vehicles.
Additionally, incentives of $500 or $2,000 per port are available for Level 2 or DC Fast Charging ports available to the public. Click here for more information.
